Homicide is the #1 Cause of Death for Young Black Men

Help Us Stop This Today!

The Stop Black on Black Violence Coalition is dedicated to decreasing the rate of Black on Black violence in the United States. Despite making up about 13.5% of the US population, Black Americans represent 55.6% of all homicide victims. In 2020, the number 1 cause of death for young Black men was homicide, and it experienced an 8% increase over the previous year. Roughly 85-89% of these killings are between Black people. These deaths are only one side of the tragedy- consider how many families are affected by these losses. This is a mounting crisis that we believe requires a full community effort to resolve.

We address this crisis by creating positive change in our communities and showing our youth how to build a more productive future for themselves. Our books on conflict resolution and parenting empower young men and their parents to navigate difficult life situations. Our youth development programs and workshops give young men the tools they need to survive and thrive outside of the worlds of gangs and crime. Overall, we take a positive, encouraging approach to changing the outlook of our people and showing them that violence is not the answer.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we honestly cannot do it without you. Your support, through donating money and volunteering your time, is critical to making sure the Stop Black on Black Violence Coalition can succeed. Help us save children and build happier, stronger families.

About Us

ABOUT US

The Stop Black on Black Violence Coalition is dedicated to reducing death and injury through
the power of education, support, and guidance. This not-for-profit organization was started in response to the persistent issue of Black on Black
violence.

For too many years, we’ve witnessed family, friends, and community members ensnared in a
cycle of violence, loss, vengeance, and self-harm. It is the responsibility of us all to instill anti- violence principles in our children and the younger generations. In particular, we are looking to uplift and empower young Black men by building up their emotional intelligence. We can show them how to defuse dangerous situations, moderate their anger, and give them more control
over body and mind.

In addition, we are huge proponents of volunteerism, so our youth can see more of their
community and understand where and how they can help. Beyond these volunteer programs,
we have several helpful books, development programs, and seminars designed to directly
intervene in vulnerable lives and create a barrier against violent situations.

With empathy, persistence, and hard work, we can stop the violence. By donating to us or
volunteering your time, you are helping a child survive and keeping a family intact. We are
continuously focused on developing new actionable strategies to decrease violence and crime,
but we need your help to save our communities.
